Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,131 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate has 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and will work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care in a fast‑paced ER environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history and check for allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Administer IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH certifications.
• Minimum 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (ER preferred).
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; occasional patient lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, leaning, and stooping for extended periods.
• Strong stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
