Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,112 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Casper, Wyoming. The position is an immediate opening for an Emergency Room RN, requiring 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. The role involves working with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care in a fast‑paced ED, performing minor medical operations, advising patients and families, documenting histories, checking allergies, obtaining vitals, monitoring patients’ well‑being, and performing tasks such as bedside care, wound care, IV therapy, equipment maintenance, and reporting suspected abuse.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for any allergies patients might have.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
• Current TNCC certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds; patient lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
