Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $1,899 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Emergency Department position in Reston, Virginia. The role is an immediate travel nurse opening requiring 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. As an ER Travel Nurse you will work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage and implement care following physician instructions, perform minor medical operations, advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries, and help plan long‑term care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Document medical history.
• Check for patient allergies.
• Obtain vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.

Requirements

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications.
• 1 year of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Skills

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; patient handling may require up to 50 pounds.
• Strong stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
