Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $1,608 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Topeka, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Care for patients in a fast-paced, urgent and emergency environment.
• Perform minor medical operations, advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries, and plan long-term care needs.
• Document medical history, check for any allergies patients might have, obtain patient vital signs, and monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being.
• Provide basic bedside care, clean and bandage wounds, provide IV therapy, maintain supplies and medical equipment, report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Be prepared to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Have good skills for coping with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• NICU
• 2 Years of recent acute care experience

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current NICU certification (if applicable)
• At least 2 years of recent acute care experience
