This unit features: Number of Beds: 10 Staffing: 6 RNs partnering with the PICU Patient Ratios: 1:2 for critical care Equipment: Phillips monitors, Med fusion and Baxter pumps Electronic Medical Record: Meditech Job Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to pediatric cardiac patients, focusing on both critical and post-operative care. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support. Key Responsibilities Provide post-operative care, including managing inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IV fluids, and chest tube management. Administer moderate sedation as necessary. Participate actively in team rounds to develop care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Mentor and teach junior staff and nursing students when applicable. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Critical Care. Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, & PALS. Preferred skills include experience with peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO at the bedside. Personal Qualities The ideal candidate will possess: Strong organizational abilities and adaptability.
