About the role

Experienced CVOR RN needed for a high-acuity cardiac surgery program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Candidate must be able to both scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases and be comfortable floating into other OR service lines when cardiac volume is low.

• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• OR Size: 32 rooms
• EMR: Epic
• Call: Required (includes days, nights, and/or weekends depending on department needs)
• Weekend Requirement: Weekend call
• Holidays: No holiday requirement
• Floating: Yes — may float to General, Urology, ENT, and other OR services within competency
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted with appropriate experience
• Scrubs: Provided
• Block scheduling is not available
• All RTO must be provided at time of submission
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a local rate differential

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgery cases, including:
  • CABG
  • Aortic valve repair/replacement
  • Mitral valve repair/replacement
  • Heart transplant
  • Aortic dissections
  • LVAD/VAD procedures
• Float to other OR service lines (e.g., General, Urology, ENT) when cardiac volume is low

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license at submission
• Minimum 3 years of relevant OR/CVOR experience
• BLS certification
• Strong recent CVOR experience
• Experience with the following is highly valued:
  • EVAR
  • TEVAR
  • TCAR
  • Open AAA repair
  • Vascular surgery
  • Thoracic procedures (VATS / thoracotomy)
• Pennsylvania fingerprinting required
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Valid license, certifications, and references required
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions considered
• COVID-19 vaccination not required
