Travel Nurse RN - CVOR - $2,673 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Mason City, Iowa. The position is for a Cardiovascular Operating Room RN with a 13‑week assignment, 40 hours per week, 8‑hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs.
• Assist physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning equipment and supplies.
• Ensure the proper handling of specimens.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds when moving patients.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (minimum 1 year).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
