About the role
The Operating Room (OR) Open Heart registered nurse (RN) position is located at a healthcare facility dedicated to providing comprehensive cardiac surgical care. This role involves perioperative nursing care for open heart procedures, including adult cardiac surgeries such as CABG, surgical valves, and thoracic interventions. The RN will work on a full-time schedule during dayshift hours, supporting a specialized team within a facility recognized for its quality and safety standards.
Schedule
- Dayshift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process in perioperative practice, including thorough patient assessments, collaborative care planning, and execution of nursing interventions
- Maintain asepsis and infection control
- Provide wound exposure and hemostasis techniques
- Collaborate with surgical teams during complex cardiac procedures
- Float rotation may be required
Requirements
- Current RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or licensed in Missouri
- BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association
- 0+ years of experience in the Operating Room Open Heart specialty
- Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and reliability
