Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia. Specialty: CVICU. Discipline: RN. Start Date: 11/09/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Location: Salem, VA. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) within a healthcare facility. The nurse will work night shifts to support critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiovascular and ICU interventions.
Responsibilities
- Providing patient-centered critical care to cardiovascular patients
- Adhering to unit policies and clinical protocols
- Participating in team-driven patient management
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- No minimum years of ICU experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cardiac care or ICU setting
- Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) credential recommended
Unit Information
12-bed SICU with staff including RNs, externs, and specialized equipment such as Tablo, IABP, Impella, Swan Ganz, and others. Typical procedures include bedside sheath removal, post-cardiac catheterization, and bedside tracheostomy care. Team-focused personality preferred.
Schedule
Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
