Travel Nurse RN - CVICU - $1,898 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a CVICU position in Columbus, Ohio. The assignment starts 11/02/2026 and lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour rotating shifts. As a CVICU Travel Nurse you will work with a diverse team to care for patients following specialized procedures such as open‑heart surgery and heart transplants in a fast‑paced, critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life‑threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Be called in for emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital‑wide.
• Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• 1‑2 years’ recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years as indicated)
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Schedule

Shift: 12 hours, rotating; 36 hours per week.
