Travel Nurse RN - Cardiac Stepdown - $2,272 per week

About the Role

Travel nurse RN position in Cardiac Stepdown at a facility in Asheville, North Carolina. Assignment duration is 13 weeks with a commitment of 36 hours per week, including 12-hour shifts on days or nights.

Unit Specifics

• Scrub colors: All Navy or Navy and White
• Unit capacity: 16 beds
• Patient ratios: Typically 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
• Staffing: RNs only – no unit secretaries or patient care technicians
• Equipment used: Ventilators, Telemetry, Baxter IV Pump, IABP, CRRT, Impella, Hypothermia
• Documentation system: Cerner
• Scheduling requirements: 36 hours per week, alternating weekends, 12-hour shifts
• Floating policy: Travelers float to all areas
• Patient experience requirements: ICU experience required

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications: None required; CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications appreciated

Responsibilities & Required Skills

• Titration of vesicant medications
• Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation
• Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Transvenous pacing and cardioversion
• TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography)
• Chest tube insertion and maintenance

• IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
• Impella
• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
