About the role

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a position in Peoria, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Department: Cath Lab | RN - # suites/labs: 6 | #cases per day on average: 1:1, 4-20 cases/day.
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: STEMI, NSTEMI, HF, congenital, TAVR, MITRACLIP, PERIPHERAL.
  • Nurses need to have the ability to read strips. We titrate drips occasionally.
  • EMR/Equipment: EPIC; We have GE and Philips monitors and McKesson.
  • Cardiologist hours/on call: Cardiologist physicians are on call 24 hours, 365 days a year.
  • Is there a Manager/Charge Nurse on each shift: Charge nurse serves as resource and coordinates dates and fields calls. When nurse on-call they act as charge nurse.
  • Cath Lab Techs: RTRs. Call teams are 4 person, regular cases are 3 person (1 RN and 2 RTR).
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 4-9 hour shift. On occasions we do work over to get all the cases completed if emergent cases come up.
  • Weeknight/Call Requirements: Yes, 6-8 call shifts/month. This includes the primary call and backup call.
  • Weekend/Call Requirements: Every 6-7 full weekend, starts Friday at 5:30pm and ends 0600 am on Monday morning. There are addition weekend shifts that RNs will serve for Backup person. They will be the circulator for emergent cases. These shifts are 24 hour shifts and happen on average once/month.
  • Floating Requirements: We don't float, but if have experience in IR could share.
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs are provided.
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: 2-3 shifts
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Licence to Submit: Yes
  • Trauma Level: 1
  • Shift Notes: 4 x 10's
  • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
