Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment supporting a busy cardiovascular program in southeastern Wisconsin. This assignment is covering a leave of absence and offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Cath Lab team performing a variety of cardiac procedures in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Monitor patients throughout diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
- Administer medications, sedation, and emergency interventions as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate hemodynamic monitoring and patient assessments.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic medical records.
- Participate in patient education regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions.
- Float between assigned facilities and departments within your clinical competency as needed.
- Assist with orienting and supporting new team members when appropriate.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Preferred
- Experience assisting with buddy call and mentoring/orienting new associates
- Ability to adapt to multiple Cath Lab environments
Schedule
- 13-week assignment
- Four 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call required based on department needs
- Approximately 16 call days during the assignment, rotating between both hospitals
- Every third weekend call rotation
- Holiday call rotation shared between both locations
Floating Requirements
- Float between Racine and Franklin facilities as needed
- May float to additional sites within a 40-mile radius based on staffing needs
- Floating will always remain within your clinical scope and skill set
