TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa. Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab. Discipline: RN. Duration: 13 weeks. 40 hours per week. Shift: 10 hours, days. Employment Type: Travel.

Responsibilities

• Work with a highly skilled team in a cardiovascular surgical environment, providing assistance to physicians including maintenance and monitoring of EKG equipment.
• Assist during angioplasty, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology.
• Learn complex technologies effectively.
• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization to diagnose or treat heart conditions.
• Assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties and stent placements.
• Help implant pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).

Requirements

• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Good stress‑coping skills.
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
