Requirements

• Active RN License
• Accredited nursing program degree
• BLS & ACLS Certifications
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Bone Marrow Transplant setting

Responsibilities

• Manages patients preparing for or recovering from bone marrow transplant.
• Nursing assessment and lab evaluation on all treatment patients.
• Reviews patient labs to determine if values are within accepted parameters for treatment.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of oncology and/or blood and marrow transplantation, chemotherapy and biotherapy treatment regimens, medications and blood products.
• Elicits pertinent information concerning treatment and any treatment-related side effects.
