About the role
Aya Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join their team in New Brunswick, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory and neurodiagnostic procedures under supervision
- Assist with intubation and extubation as needed
- Manage tracheostomy care and perform related procedures
- Collect sputum specimens and perform nasal and oral airway management
- Troubleshoot and manage high-pressure alarms on ventilators
- Wean patients from mechanical ventilation as appropriate
- Provide patient education and documentation as required
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Knowledge of adult critical care, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, suctioning, oral airway placement, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care/management, and various ventilator techniques
Qualifications
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
