Travel NICU RN - $2,427 per week

About the Role

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care assignment in Lake Forest, Illinois. This is a 13-week contract starting on 10/05/2026, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and specialized care for newborns needing close monitoring due to premature birth, birth defects, infection, or other medical conditions requiring surgery or therapy.
• Work in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist in developing and implementing a plan of care for high-risk newborns requiring high-technology care, including ventilators, incubators, or other special equipment or surgery.
• Make clinical judgments and utilize critical thinking in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.
• Manage patient care and assist others in the management of patient care according to nursing standards.

Requirements

• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care NICU setting.
• Active RN License.
• BLS, PALS, & NRP Certifications.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Other requirements to be determined by the client facility.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a neonatal intensive care setting, hold the necessary certifications, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
