Travel NICU RN - $1,642 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN for an immediate travel nursing opening in Corpus Christi, TX. The right RN should have 1-2 years' recent acute care experience. As a NICU RN, you'll provide critical care to sick and premature infants, assist in providing round-the-clock care, and support parents with emotional encouragement and advice on proper infant care upon discharge.

Responsibilities

• Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life
• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary
• Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs
• Provide arterial and intravenous therapy
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as incubators and ventilators

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• 1 year of recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Physical demands & work environment

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 10-20 pounds of equipment at times
• May face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases
