About the role
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in a healthcare setting. This position involves providing specialized neonatal care for critically ill newborns, with a focus on infants from 23 weeks gestation up to 4 months old. The role requires active participation in neonatal emergency responses and bedside procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Attend all C-section and high-risk deliveries
- Provide advanced respiratory support
- Perform bedside procedures such as IV insertions, intubations, septic workups, and administering medications
- Manage ventilators, oscillators, and pressors
- Respond to neonatal emergencies
- Provide parent education
- Care for neonates primarily from labor and delivery, including extreme prematurity to infants up to 4 months old
- Treat conditions including respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and congenital anomalies
Requirements
- Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU Level 3 experience
- Current certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to manage micro preemies
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 3 years of NICU experience
Schedule
- Days shift, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
