Job Details

Works under the supervision of Rehab Supervisor and Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
Provides Occupational Therapy interventions to patients per referral, including assessment, care, planning, educating patients and families regarding treatment plans, progress and prognosis, scheduling, recording treatment information, and issuing appropriate adaptive equipment.

Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Administers to children, an Occupation Therapy Care Plan compatible with physician, patient and family goals, including assessment and intervention in the areas of fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, durable medical equipment, and other areas specific to occupational therapy.

Coordinates with a CCS Case Manager for referral to a CCS panel provider or CCS Medical Therapy Unit for the patient who may continue to require occupational therapy services after hospital discharge.

Job Requirements

• Master’s of Occupational Therapy required.
• California Occupational Therapy license required.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required.
• Minimum of 3 years OT experience, and 1 year of NICU experience.

Schedule Information

• Shifts would be 1 weekend a month, 8am start time.
• 8 hours per day.
• 40 hours per week.

Unit Specific Information

• NICU experience required.
• Patient assessment, care planning, educating patients and families, scheduling.
• Adherence to safety standards, meeting department objectives, coordination with CCS Case Manager.
• Development intervention, durable medical equipment intervention.
• High-quality patient care, safe patient care, recording treatment information, issuing adaptive equipment.
• Providing age-appropriate care, fine motor skills intervention, self-help skills intervention.
• Documentation, cost-effective treatment planning.
• Orientation of new employees, instructing therapy students, evaluating therapy students.
• Charge Therapist duties.
• Courtesy in professional interactions.
