About the role
This is a 13-week contract position for a Level II Registered Nurse in Neuromusculoskeletal Med Surg. The role involves 3x12-hour shifts with flexibility for day, evening, or night shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge duties per unit needs. The position requires 36 or 48 hours per week.
The Level II Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, is accountable for providing competent care based on established standards. This role includes clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and research/evidence-based practice. The nurse assumes an expanded role, which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent care to patients based on established standards.
- Assume expanded roles including charge nurse and preceptor.
- Participate in committees and contribute to service excellence.
Requirements
- 2 years of Med Surg experience required.
- Telemetry experience required.
- NYS RN license is mandatory.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required.
- NIHSS certification required.
