Travel Neuro ICU RN - $2,068 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Neuro ICU assignment in York, Pennsylvania. This is a 13‑week travel contract requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. TotalMed RN is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency focused on placing highly‑skilled clinicians nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting.
• Provide direct care to patients in life‑threatening situations, documenting and delivering physician‑directed care.
• Assess and implement patient care plans, delegating to other care providers as appropriate.
• Provide education and support to patient families, including long‑term care needs.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work and interpret reports.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
• Communicate patients' conditions to family members.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certification.
• Minimum 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (ICU preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds when moving patients.
• Willingness to work with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative and to handle exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
