Travel Multi Skilled Operator

About the Role

Salute, a leading provider of cutting-edge Data Center Infrastructure Services, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Multi–Skilled Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to complete tasks directed by the Data Center Manager, ensuring building services, tenant comfort, and safety. This position requires expertise in data center services, preventive maintenance, equipment monitoring, and support of IT systems, network services, and business-critical processes.

Responsibilities

• Execute operation, maintenance, and modification of critical environment building systems, including HVAC, computer room air conditioners, chillers, plumbing, UPS, DC battery systems, PDU, generators, transfer switches, switchgear, cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems.
• Complete planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance work assignments requiring multiple engineering, mechanical, and maintenance trades.
• Conduct periodic building systems inspections (HVAC, electrical distribution systems) and maintain mechanical equipment rooms for clean and safe conditions.
• Respond to and manage indoor emergency situations and air quality complaints.
• Create, close, and track work requests, initiate or respond to work orders, and verify completion of work.
• Monitor service contractor performance, note deficiencies, and recommend changes.
• Deliver data center services, including colocation, telecommunications services, and deployment of additional services to customers and internal business systems.
• Act as a focal point for data center customers, vendors, and carriers regarding colocation, connectivity, and network products and services.
• Support internal networks, IT infrastructure, computers, electronics, and telephone systems.
• Perform tasks in IT and telecommunications rooms, such as installing hardware, running patch cables, and testing cable paths.
• Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors, vendors, and carriers for structured cabling installation, circuit delivery, and equipment installations.
• Provide support to offsite points-of-presence, including operations, administration, and maintenance of infrastructure and network equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Superior observation and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs
• Ability to stand for long periods in various work environments
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment-related tasks
• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergencies
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components
• Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform detail-oriented tasks
• Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and elevated noise levels
• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
