About the role

This position involves providing high-quality care to patients admitted with various oncology-related needs. The role includes administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms related to cancer treatments, and ensuring effective continuous cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous cardiac monitoring for patients receiving chemotherapy.
• Provide care for patients with soft tissue malignancies, including diagnostic services and chemotherapy administration.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and manage patient fall risks.
• Support symptom management related to disease progression or treatment side effects.
• Manage patients with comorbidities in collaboration with medical teams.

• B450 monitors with GE telemetry system
• Bladder Scanner
• Alaris pumps
• Stryker beds

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is mandatory.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4.
• Willingness to float within units with equivalent or lower levels of acuity.
• Previous travel experience is preferred.
• Epic electronic health record experience is required.

Skills

• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias.
• Experience in accessing ports and managing arterial lines.
• Competence in blood product administration and central line care.
• PICC line management skills.
• IV start and assistance with chest tube insertion/removal.
• Expertise in high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) administration.
• Knowledge in interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs).
