About the Role
ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Assignment Details
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Schedule: Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required
- Unit: Emergency Department (ED) Holding unit
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care within the ED Holding unit for patients waiting for inpatient beds
- Provide care for medical/surgical adult diagnoses and manage patients with potentially high acuity needs
- Handle MedSurg/Telemetry cases and float to the ED and MedSurg areas as necessary
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and manage dysrhythmias
- Administer medications and blood products as needed
- Perform peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, and IV starts
- Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and other safety protocols
- Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams for patient emergencies
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (Epic)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (essential)
- Valid RN license (compact license acceptable)
- Demonstrated ability in MS/Tele, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and renal failure
- NIHSS certification (preferred)
