About the role
An MRI Technologist operates MRI scanners to produce detailed 3D images for medical diagnosis, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging.
Responsibilities
- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications
- Educate patients about procedures and address questions
- Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot MRI equipment
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Adjust scanning parameters for optimal images
- Document procedures accurately and collaborate with healthcare providers
- Follow safety protocols, infection control, and equipment safety procedures
- Perform other duties within the scope of MRI technology
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of a Radiology program with MRI specialization
- At least one year of MRI experience
- Valid Radiology/MRI license; current BLS certification
- PREFERRED: ARRT or ARMRIT certification
- Critical thinking, strong communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to move equipment and remain in position
- Proficiency in reading instructions, PC skills, and maintaining professionalism
- Visual acuity and ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
