Travel MRI Technologist - $3,207 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied, a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency, is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 17‑week assignment in Rochester, New York. The position requires 40 hours per week on 8‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of MRI technology experience and be available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support as required.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety.
• Assist the radiologist with procedure performance.
• Start I.V.s and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images, sequence of exposure, and label appropriately.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist.
• Current BLS certification.
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging; state‑specific licensing when required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
