About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for an immediate opening in Kansas City, Missouri. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with a schedule of 36 hours per week (12‑hour day shifts). As an MRI Tech you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment, ensure image accuracy, prepare and care for patients, and collaborate with radiologists. One year of prior MRI experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients while providing reassurance and support
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to each procedure
• Interpret physicians’ written instructions correctly
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with regulations and ensure safety
• Assist the radiologist during procedures
• Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images, verify exposure sequence, and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience (2 years preferred)
• BLS certification
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT national certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging
• State‑specific licensing where required
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for extended periods
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
