Travel MRI Technologist - $2,548 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Tacoma, Washington. The position requires 1 year of experience and involves operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment, ensuring image accuracy, preparing and caring for patients, and collaborating with radiologists. Shifts are 12‑hour nights, 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients while providing reassurance and support
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures
• Interpret physicians’ written instructions correctly
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with regulations and ensure safety
• Assist radiologists with procedure performance
• Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images, sequence exposures, and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist
• BLS certification
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT national certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging
• State‑specific licensing where required
• ARRT (R) certification
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for extended periods
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment start
