Travel MRI Tech - $1,963 per week

Travel MRI Technologist position in Myrtle Beach, SC. Contract assignment for 13 weeks starting 10/26/2026. Full‑time, 40 hours per week on a 5×8 day shift (8‑hour days). Employment type: Travel.

About the Role

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Licensed MRI Technologist to support a friendly, positive, and professional environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail‑oriented, and a critical thinker who can act quickly in emergencies. This is a 13‑week temporary contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.
• Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
• Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services: key commands to specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, and key in data to photograph images.
• Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, address concerns, and exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Ensure patient and staff safety: explain safety protocols, request removal of hazardous metal objects, alert staff of dangers related to metal around the magnet, and monitor patients via closed‑circuit TV.
• Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.
• Perform related technological functions under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and Imaging Services Director, with latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and efficient, safe processes.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of regular (20+ hours per week) continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, fully proficient in all duties of an MRI Technologist II.
• Current license in the required state.
• BLS certification.
• Full proficiency in MRI and knowledge of required protocols for complex MRI procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and colleagues.
• Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
• Two years of hospital experience in a clinical area; EP experience preferred.

Pay

Pay depends on location and experience. The pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
