Responsibilities
MedSurg RNs provide bedside care for a variety of patients and execute individualized patient assessments to create an individualized plan of care. MedSurg RNs prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications
- Initiate alternative action when adverse symptomology is displayed
- Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs when necessary
