Position Highlights

• Beds: 49
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00–7:00)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5

Required Experience

• Telemetry experience
• Ability to read and interpret basic EKG/telemetry strips
• Experience with CVA/TIA patients
• Total Joint Replacement patient care experience
• Cerner experience preferred (only 1 day of unit orientation)

• Patient Care Technician (PCT)

• COGIE
• COVID
• Respiratory conditions
• Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders
• Diabetes
• Telemetry patients
• Post-cardiac catheterization
• Total joint replacements

Unit Details

• Central telemetry monitoring
• RNs must interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift
• PCT ratio: 1:10–15
• CPAP, BiPAP, and respiratory treatments available
• Cardizem (Diltiazem) drips at set rate only (no titration)

Schedule

• Self-scheduling with manager balancing
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Holiday rotation required
• 1 shift of unit orientation
• Floating
• May float to East Campus
• May float to PCU if qualified
