Job Summary
The Medical Surgical Float Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical-surgical setting, with flexibility to support multiple units as a float nurse. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring adherence to all practice standards and promoting patient-centered, evidence-based practices within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
- Nursing experience of at least 6 months to 3 years
- Management experience of 0 to 3 years
- Five or more (5+) years of direct nursing experience
- Skills in collaboration, communication (verbal & written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning (organizing, time management), problem solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
