Travel Medical Surgical Telemetry RN - $1,915 per week

About the Role

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry is sought for a 13-week travel assignment in Wilson, North Carolina. This position involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy telemetry unit, focusing on cardiac, surgical, and general medical conditions. The role supports a team-oriented environment, emphasizing critical thinking and patient-centered care.

Unit equipment includes Welch Allyn vital signs machines, Hoyer lift with weight scale, Abbott glucometer, computers on wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps. The patient population includes diagnoses such as CHF, CP, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetics, CKD, and post-cardiac catheterization care.

The facility is located approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, near Lake Wilson, and offers a local rate of $46.80 per hour for candidates residing 60 miles or more from the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry unit
• Manage cardiac, surgical, and general medical conditions
• Interpret EKGs and utilize critical thinking skills
• Work within a team-oriented environment
• Handle discharges and admissions (preferred)
• Manage basic cardiac drips (preferred)

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• 1.5+ years of experience in Med Surg / Telemetry
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record system
• Skills in EKG interpretation and critical thinking

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing discharges and admissions
• Basic knowledge of cardiac drips
• Experience with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, and post-cardiac cath care
• Strong teamwork abilities

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 09/07/2026
• Night shift, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum of 36 hours per week

Pay

Local rate of $46.80 per hour for candidates residing 60 miles or more from the facility. Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
