About the role
The designated nurse will be working on a Medical Surgical (MS) floor within a regional care hospital known for clinical excellence and advanced technological capabilities. The position involves providing comprehensive patient care to adult patients with a variety of diagnoses, including cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, and respiratory conditions. The role requires the ability to work night shifts, starting on 08/03/2026.
Schedule
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 48 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care to adult patients with a variety of medical-surgical diagnoses
- Perform NIH and Swallow Screen assessments (preferred)
- Manage dysrhythmia monitoring and medication dosage calculations
- Complete all facility education during orientation
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- 2+ years of clinical experience
- Competent in dysrhythmia recognition and math dosage calculations
- Must pass a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation
- Availability for holidays during phone screening
- Must start by 08/10/2026 to receive the rapid response rate
- Completed screening requirements prior to start, including:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI Department of Aging Fingerprinting
- PA State Police Clearance
- Fingerprint results must be recent or completed prior to employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Neuro specialization
- Experience with common neurological diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, seizure, and mobility issues
