About the role
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Fargo, North Dakota. This position involves providing care to general medical-surgical patients within a 10-bed department. The role requires collaboration with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse will practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilize appropriate age-specific standards, and work with equipment such as EMR-Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry.
Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday commitments
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide care to general medical-surgical patients
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise
- Utilize appropriate age-specific standards
- Operate equipment including EMR-Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry
- Float to any med/surg unit on any campus in Fargo as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) experience
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ND or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license, or willingness to obtain one
- Recent travel experience showing completion in previous assignments (not first-time travelers) and must have worked within the last year
- Experience working in a larger hospital (minimum 250 beds), level 2 or higher trauma center
- Epic electronic medical record experience
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Navy Blue scrubs required
Additional Information
- 10-bed department with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during the day shift and 6:1 during the night shift
- Facility trauma level is 1
- Compliance with the client’s cancellation policy, allowing cancellation up to 12 hours prior every 13 weeks

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
