This role involves providing care to adult medical/surgical patients, including behavioral disturbances, in a busy 32-bed inpatient unit. The incumbent will collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise. The position includes rotating day and night shifts, with varying schedules based on unit needs, and requires float to other med/surg units across three campuses. Job Details: Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday. Schedule cycles may vary, with possible rotations such as three weeks days followed by three weeks nights, or all days or all nights, depending on unit needs. Self-scheduling is permitted with guaranteed days off as per the contract; shift swaps may be necessary to balance unit staffing. Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds), valid BLS certification from AHA, valid ND or compact state RN license, experience with Electronic Health Records (Epic), level 1 trauma experience, and travel experience (candidates on their first travel assignment will not be considered). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system, experience on a Medical-Surgical unit, and behavioral health patient care experience. Float: Float rotation may be required to all medical-surgical units within Fargo. Additional Information: The unit uses Epic electronic health record system, Philips monitors, bladder scanners, Acuivein, and Omnicell equipment. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights. All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility and wear navy blue scrubs.
