Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $2,328 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for an immediate opening in Henderson, Kentucky. The position is for a Medical Surgical RN (Med Surg) with a travel employment type.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop; lift up to 20 pounds easily, with patient moving/lifting requiring up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
