Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Floor nurse position is located in a healthcare facility and involves providing care to adult patients with various diagnoses, primarily post‑surgical. The role requires flexibility in floating to different units as needed, with scheduled shift hours from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The position emphasizes clinical expertise in adult care, focusing on patients with conditions such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity requiring bariatric surgery.

Required Qualifications

• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active New York RN license and all active RN licenses verified through NURSYS report
• 2+ years of experience in Medical‑Surgical (MS) nursing
• Documented travel nursing experience
• Current Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with EPIC
• Valid driver’s license with matching address
• RTO must be included at time of submission

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills checklist matching the Med Surg specialty
• Experience with common patient diagnoses listed above
• Familiarity with specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric (N/G) tubes, and feeding tubes

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
