Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $2,301 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg for a travel nursing assignment in Appleton, Wisconsin. The position starts 10/26/2026, lasts 13 weeks, and requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (additional certifications may be required before assignment)
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience
