About the role

The Med/Surg RN specializing in Ortho/Joint care is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients during night shifts. This role involves managing patient needs in a Med/Surg environment, specifically focusing on orthopedic and joint cases.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions, documenting any changes in health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Manage IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs and administering blood products.
• Provide care for patients post-total joint replacement surgery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy and Respiratory Services.
• Educate patients and families regarding their health conditions and care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Must hold a current RN license in the state of Maryland or a compact state license.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHHS certifications are preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med/Surg and Ortho/Joint nursing.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system is preferred.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)
