This position involves providing high-quality nursing care for adult patients in a busy Level I trauma center, with responsibilities including telemetry, wound management, medication administration, and post-operative care. The role offers an opportunity to develop advanced skills in interdisciplinary care planning and patient education within a dynamic clinical environment. Job Details Position: Medical Surgical RN (Registered Nurse) in the Specialty of Medical Surgical Floor. Shift: 3x12 Night shifts (1845-0715). Minimum 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, minimum of 2 years' experience in hospital Med/Surg, BLS certification, current active license at the time of application, and ability to work every other weekend. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level I facility, trauma level II, or previous charge nurse experience preferred. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and renal case management, IV therapy, medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA), neurological and psychiatric patient care, respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP, and surgical drain management. Additional job duties involve frequent assessments of surgical skin grafts/flaps, management of chronic wounds, post-surgical patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Schedule: Night shifts from 1845 to 0715, 36 hours weekly, with a flexible schedule based on discussion with the manager. Candidates must have at least 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience, be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, and have current certifications as specified. Open to float to other units within scope as needed. Candidates must have active Illinois licensure in hand before applying. RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days off.
