Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $2,040 per week

About the role

Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Floor in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This role involves caring for high acuity patients, including cardiac step-down, post-procedure cardiac patients, and stroke patients. The nurse will be responsible for independently reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips, managing cardiac drips, and providing comprehensive patient care in a Level IV Trauma Center environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Manage cardiac drips
• Provide comprehensive patient care in a Level IV Trauma Center environment
• Charge nurse handles patient assignments
• Shared responsibility with RN for blood draws
• Team includes hospitalists, intensivists, and therapy services
• Float in rotation to other medical surgical areas

Schedule

• Evening shift with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every third weekend
• Flexibility required for holiday coverage including summer and winter holidays such as Christmas or New Years
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts to learn unit flow

Required Qualifications

• Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• 2 years of relevant experience
• Located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cardiac catheterization
• Chest tubes
• Management of cardiac drips such as Amiodarone and Cardizem
