Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $1,820 per week

About the Role

Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurses are sought for a short-term travel assignment in a busy medical-surgical unit located in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves providing patient care for post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, trauma patients, and neuro overflow cases within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The position offers a day shift schedule with flexible scheduling options.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Unit Specifics:

• Bed Capacity: 23 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5
• Staff Types: Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available
• Equipment: traction, fixators, cooling equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts per week, including three weekend shifts per schedule period
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float; may float to other MedSurg level of care units such as General Medical/Surgical, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Typical Procedures on Unit:

• Post-op knee, hip, shoulder replacements
• Trauma care
• Neuro overflow cases

The unit is a high-acuity setting within a recognized trauma and stroke center, offering opportunities to work with advanced equipment and experienced staff.

Requirements

• RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced skills include orthopedic experience, telemetry, NIH procedures performed on unit

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 hours, days
