Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $1,815 per week

About the Role

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) care for a 13-week travel assignment in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. The position involves providing high-quality patient care in a 36-bed unit with a focus on a variety of diagnoses and procedures. Candidates should be proficient in bedside procedures and able to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for general MedSurg patients with a nurse-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Assist providers with bedside procedures such as Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Central Line placements, and tracheostomy care
• Manage patients with conditions including stroke, GI bleed, renal failure, sepsis, and post-operative care for abdominal surgeries (e.g., cholecystectomies, hernia repairs)
• Administer medications such as Heparin, Lasix, and insulin
• Operate equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Omni feeding pumps, and Welch-Allyn VS machines
• Utilize computerized charting via EPIC
• Float to other nursing areas as census allows

Requirements

• Valid RN license (Compact accepted)
• 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ICU and acute care procedures (e.g., IV insertions, managing chest tubes, wound vacs, bedside I & D)
