Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $1,785 per week

About the role

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in a critical access hospital located in a mountain town of Western North Carolina. The role involves providing inpatient care on a 17-bed unit that emphasizes teamwork, with a focus on adult patients primarily aged 65 and older. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment that includes strong PT/OT/Speech presence and 24-hour provider coverage, along with access to diagnostic and lab services.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care on a 17-bed medical‑surgical unit.
• Work collaboratively in a team‑focused environment.
• Care for adult patients, primarily those 65 years and older.
• Coordinate with PT, OT, and Speech therapy services.
• Utilize 24‑hour provider coverage and diagnostic/lab services.
• Manage PICC/CVC lines and perform wound care.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience.
• Experience managing PICC/CVC lines and wound care.
• Willingness to float between Swain and Harris Regional facilities on Med‑Surg or equivalent nursing experience.

Schedule

• Start date: October 5, 2026.
• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Shift: 12‑hour nights.
• Hours: 36 hours per week (minimum 36 hours guaranteed).
