Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - $1,871 per week

About the Role

Medical Solutions is seeking a talented Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Winchester, Kentucky. This position offers 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-op surgical care for general surgery patients, including total knee/hip replacements, hernia repairs, and colectomies
• Manage IVs, NGs, PICC & central line care, catheter care, and ostomy care
• Handle tube feeding, PEG tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, and NG tubes
• Care for patients with diagnoses including COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and A-Fib
• Float to step-down unit to care for med/surg patients as needed
• Work in a fast-paced environment with 5:1 or 6:1 patient ratios (day shift has high admissions/discharges)

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg
• ADN or BSN degree
• Experience with: IV insertion, telemetry, foleys, stroke care, and post-op care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player
• Self-starter comfortable in fast-paced environments

Unit Details

• Unit Size: 36 beds
• Patient Population: Adult to geriatric (age 18+)
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP/Hemovac drains, ostomy supplies, NG tubes, feeding tubes
• EHR: MedHost
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Dress Code: Navy or black scrubs (no t-shirts or Crocs)
