This role involves floating to other medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed. Shift Details 36 or 48 hours per week available 0700 start time Weekend requirements: Every other weekend No on-call duties required Unit Information The 8SE unit provides care for a variety of surgeries and medical needs, including: Prostatectomy Mastectomy Abdominal surgeries Thyroidectomy This general medical/surgical floor specifically cares for post-operative patients who require overnight stays. Patient Care Responsibilities Administering heparin drips and other medications as prescribed Monitoring patient progress and vital signs Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best patient outcomes Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry First-time travelers are welcome Required to float within the same discipline across local units Licensing and Certifications Must hold an active nursing license in Iowa or a compact nursing license Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Dress Code The dress code for this position is navy blue scrubs.
