About the role
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients within a clinical environment. The position includes coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, providing leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing staff and other team members to uphold professional nursing practice standards, and may serve as a backup Charge Nurse as required.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
- Participate in patient and family teaching to promote understanding and adherence to care plans.
- Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing staff and other team members to uphold professional nursing practice standards.
- May serve as a backup Charge Nurse as required.
Requirements
- All requested time off (RTO) during the assignment must be noted at the time of application; changes after submission will not be accepted.
- Must work designated holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
- Must be willing to float between units within the scope of practice.
- Candidate must have their own vehicle, as public transportation is not available in the area.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Med Surg and Rehabilitation.
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months.
- Charge Nurse experience is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Must have a valid Vermont RN License or a compact license.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are required.

Schedule
12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour weekly guarantee. Every other weekend and holidays as needed. Available for on-call duties as required.
