Travel Med Surg/Telemetry RN - $2,221 per week

Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing assignment in Bay City, Michigan. The position involves 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with flexibility to float between units and availability for every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conducting comprehensive assessments upon admission and monitoring trends in patient conditions throughout their hospital stay.
• Medication & Treatment: Preparing, administering, and charting prescribed medications, including IVs, and managing wound care or specialized equipment.
• Care Coordination: Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Patient Education: Instructing patients and families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and instructions for post-discharge.
• Emergency Response: Recognizing early signs of medical deterioration and acting swiftly to stabilize patients prior to emergencies.

• Attendance Policy: Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift, arrives more than 20 minutes late, or fails to complete a scheduled shift without prior approval receives an attendance strike; leaving a shift early without authorization also results in a strike. Three strikes lead to immediate termination. Extenuating circumstances (communicable illness or hospitalization with documentation) may be reviewed case‑by‑case.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med‑Surg and Telemetry experience required.
• Must possess current Michigan state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and must be active at the time of submission.
